The majority of original series on G4 Television and Esquire Network were unscripted. And during my tenure at TBS, the network launched several new unscripted series. Here are my favorite spots for those reality programs, late-night shows, and docu-series:
Working on Conan was a longtime dream come true. The amazing Comic-Con spots were created in partnership with Oishii Creative.
Sam Bee is awesome. Launching her Emmy-winning Not the White House Correspondent's Dinner was a very fast, fun, and meaningful experience.
In 2017, we launched the celebrity rap battle series Drop the Mic and the game show Snoop Dogg Presents the Joker's Wild. They immediately became the #2 and #3 top-rated new comedies on cable for 2017.
Three years into Esquire Network's existence, we created this powerhouse reel to showcase our wealth of original programming, and to set a bold tone for the future. This sizzle was featured as a PromaxBDA Hot Spot.

No better way to launch Esquire Network than with a special celebrating the 80th anniversary of the legendary magazine. We wanted these promos to pay maximum respect to the iconic brand we were joining.
Team Ninja Warrior was Esquire Network's spin-off of the popular American Ninja Warrior franchise. To launch the second season, we worked with The Mission to create this action-packed trailer. Winner of a PromaxBDA Silver award. Note: this is the uncut long-form version.
Friday Night Tykes spotlighted the ultra-competitive world of Texas youth football. It was Esquire Network's most talked-about show, sparking national debate in both the press and social media. Here is a selection of pieces, ending with the a launch spot for spin-off series Friday Night Tykes: Steel Country (which was featured in the PromaxBDA Daily Brief).
Mike Stud is a successful rapper, who without any major label support has garnered a huge following through social media. This docu-series followed Mike and his buddies as they embarked on a sold-out national tour. Working together with Riverstreet, we played into the frenetic and freewheeling vibe of the Mike Stud experience. The first piece (our launch trailer) was chosen as a PromaxBDA Hot Spot.
Hosted by celebrated chef Ilan Hall, Knife Fight was Esquire Network's authentic, underground cooking competition. The show ran for three seasons; these are two of my favorite spots. The first one ("Food in Flight") was featured in the PromaxBDA Daily Brief. Thanks to Moving Parts and Fresh Cut for partnering on these.
We cut this spot in just a day, and I'm proud of how powerful/haunting it is. Featured in the PromaxBDA Daily Brief.
I launched American Ninja Warrior at G4, and continued creating campaigns for the series for over eight years! Here are but a few spots that chart the evolution of the show.
Running for three seasons, Boundless followed a group of extreme athletes as they competed in the world's most insane races and ultra-marathons. But for these athletes, it wasn't just about crossing the finish line. It was about the journey that took them there.
Hosted by famed comedy writer Spike Feresten, Car Matchmaker ran for three seasons and was one of Esquire Network's most-viewed shows. The first spot in this collection ("She's A Lady") was featured in the PromaxBDA Daily Brief.
How I Rock It was one of the shows that premiered with the launch of Esquire Network. I imagined a "dream tailor shop" for this shoot, and brought it to life with host Baron Davis.
Attack of the Show! was G4's flagship program, a live daily show that was the "CNN of Geek America" according to Rolling Stone magazine. When crafting promos for the show, I always sought to celebrate the show's irreverent attitude and intelligence.
When we launched Bomb Patrol: Afghanistan, we knew this was an entirely different type of program for G4. We were introducing our viewers to a show that was serious, impactful, and sometimes shocking.
G4's special events and coverage of conventions like Comic-Con, the Tokyo Game Show, E3 and Sexpo (yes, Sexpo) resulted in some of the network's biggest ratings. Here is a collection of spots for those geektastic happenings. My promos for the Tokyo Game Show 2007 and Comic-Con 2008 won PromaxBDA Gold awards, and the Sexpo South Africa spot took home the Bronze.
